Warmshowers
I have always admired those cyclist who peddle miles and miles exploring the country by bicycle. What an adventure! I met two gentlemen in their seventies that cycled from Virginia to Oregon. Florence was their final destination. They told me about warmshowers.org and I was sold. I thought what a wonderful way to meet healthy, dedicated people with a mission and story. I registered on the warmshowers website and w/in 6 hour Ii had an email from team timu needing a place to crash. It was their first warmshowers too. What came to such a surprise is I am the only place in florence as a warmshowers host!!! With so many cyclists riding 101 I bet there will be many more guests. I am inspired to write a warmshowers info letter to the editor of siuslaw news. Who knows maybe florence will step up and support these cyclists peddling their heart out and facing their fears each day.

Lagler family reunion
Today we gathered in Veneta for a family reunion. Many generations mingled, hugged and laughed. We a shucked oysters, told stories, and remembered old times. I am blessed with a large family.

Lounging
Pancho makes a great companion for a day of resting. I am feeling under the weather. My whole day has looked like this. Made a bed on the deck and lounged.

Little bit of wilderness
I have enjoyed the natural outdoors of Florida. I love that my kids are excited for a canoe adventure, fishing from the dock, beach combing, and lizard/ frog searching. The tucker family gladly skips Disney! I'll take turtles over Mickey any day!!!

Gulf Specimen Marine Lab
We really enjoyed the Marine lab. There were so many to touch and view. I love that it was mostly ran by students. They were curious about us too being from the Oregon coast. A great last day in Florida.
Evening walk
Our last night at Alligator Point for a while. We walked down the beach just as happy as can be and realized it wasn't the location that made us happy but the company.
