Last week I went on a solo trip to Ellensburg, Washington to teach Math4all in early childhood, a course at CWU. My students are all teachers, directors, and assistance of head start programs and early head start of Washington. It went very well, I had excellent participation, evaluations, and comments. This was a pretty great opportunity for me. I'm so pleased with how it turned out. The boys did great at home. Now I'm back and we are on to life as usual this summer.

Whitaker Creek Camp Out
We kicked off summer break with a camp out first weekend out of school. We were lucky enough to get to borrow our friends camper, so it was a lot less work and more like glamping. We could have stayed for a few more days. We are good at hanging by the river, bike riding, and just taking it easy in the woods. We got the cousins to come out for a short visit one day. I'm traveling for work next two weeks, but I'll keep this weekend in mind to get me through until the next time I get to be in the woods with my loves.

I felt like moving in after a day here! It was amazing and beautiful. For four days these group of students had wonderful stations to explore. Very lucky group of kids that got a lot of well planned outdoor education. I chaperoned only one day. It was 5th grade and 7th grade combined over 200 kids attending!

Greek Gods in the Front Yard
Nightly battles have become a routine around here. Spencer is really into being different Greek gods and insists we all choose one. Tonight tres was Anteus the son of the God of the ocean. Who was properly struck down by Ares... How much longer will this stage of imagination last? All this play and pretend? I'm not sure so I don't want to miss any of it.
