Showing Signs of Spring

It is pretty exciting to see the changes happening in my yard. The new blooms, growth, pops of color, and fragrance are all happening right before my eyes. I love taking a walk through the yard and seeing what is new, done,or almost ready.
Primrose

Very fragrant some kind of daphnia
Chives are back!
Rhubarb survived, and growing now:)
Laying every day now all four if them.

After school one day

A brief few days of sun and warmer tempatures is just what we needed. We headed straight for the beach after school. A great place to unwind and reconnect. This is actually the estuary. A new place to explore. We walked up on a  group of seals hauled out on the beach, warming themselves in the sun too. We could hear and smell them much better than we could see them. No great pictures of them this time. The boys were very impressed with their mother's knowledge on location, behavior, and and other factoids of the sighted harbor seals. It was a great ending if the day, complete with a hand pick bouquet if pussy willows too. One of my favorite!

The Usual Spot

I am so grateful for this place. We come here often, for short or long periods of time. It is a bit of wilderness here, always changing, shifting and surprising us. After we leave I always thank the boys for our time here together. I want them to be as grateful as I for the ease and accessibility of such a wonderful place and for our time together in nature. Making memories together, connecting to nature,   feeling and seeing the elements and their liveliness; I want my boys to know this, seek this and feel connected here.

Getting Creative

I am grateful a fort building session will get the boys excited and engaged. I called this one a reading fort, and sure enough they were into getting their books and claiming a spot to sit and read. Pancho was a reluctant participant, but with some coaxing and soft blankets he joined in.
