Cape Blanco Campout

We spent two nights camping at Cap Blanco State Park. The most westerly point in Oregon and the oldest functioning lighthouse in Oregon. The weather was amazing. My sister Alex joined us for two nights also. The boys and I rode our bikes to the light house. It was a pretty steep hill but the kids did great. I'm feeling like I'm not ready for this summer to be over. Adventuring with this family is the best. I'm not ready to say goodbye to that great weather either. Even though we need rain! I bet we'll be back to Cape Blanco... Maybe even this winter. They have cabins!

Mckenzie River Camp out

Last week I had the pleasure of bringing the family to Belknap Hotsprings along the Mckenzie River. I have stayed before for my ladies retreat, this time I camped out and brought my boys. It was pretty hot for the hot springs but we soaked anyways. We also hiked, rode mt. Bikes, watched the meteor showers for two nights, swam in the frigid cascade lake, and relaxed in nature.   We had a great time and decided next camping will have to be minimum three days, two days are not long enough.

14 Years Married

We had a night away for our anniversary. We stayed in a yurt in Elkton at a Bradly vineyard. We swam in the umpqua River and visited the butterfly pavilion. 14 years has gone by so quickly. I'm thinking it is because we know how to have fun together. I also think we have learned to forgive quickly and kiss slowly. To be friends and respect each other's need to have autonomy. I know we'll learn more as we continue in this life we have made together. I feel a sense of excitement about all the memories and experiences we'll have together. I'm loving this life and love we are sharing and the family we have made. Here is to many more!!

Rainrock

We have the best time here. The sweet thing is I have been having the best time here for nearly forty years. I've been coming here since I was a baby & now with my own. The water, rapids, rocks and good times are memories that last a lifetime. Each year I am thankful to have the gem of a place and to share it with friends and family. My boys love spending time here it makes my heart so happy.

A few moments for me

The boys recently spent a few days away with Tres visiting endresen family in Sisters, OR. I took the opportunity as a staycation. Four days home alone for this busy Mama was like a dream. I adore my boys and sweet husband, but I think we can all agree that a break and a break at home is something to get excited about.
I took each day leisurely. Waking naturally, coffee on the deck in the sunshine, slow breakfast with morning harvested greens, followed by some time in the hammock. Each day I swam the lakes, had a picnic, and just sat in silence. I had time to visit a few girlfriends and have a sleepover at my house with a cousin and a sister.  The change of pace at home was a treat. However I'll take my loud and rowdy clutch of boys back, I missed them and all their sweetness. Staycation alone was a treat. Next vacation time I'll take it with the whole family.
