Weekend of Gardening

This weekend I spent  most of my time in the yard and garden. It was so great to have some time to spend wrecking, planting, even watering my plants and newly planted seeds. This year I have planted seeds directly in the ground in our little dog kennel made to green house. Cucumbers are already coming up.  Next year I would like to have a raised bed in the green house and a shelf/ bench for seed starts. I'll also place a weed barrier down.

My neighbor gave us strawberry plants, so I've dedicated three raised beds just for strawberries.

We are planning a yard sale for this Saturday. I noticed how many plants I have that have multiplied, so I decided to make a plant sale too. I've dug up many plants and prepared them in pots for the sale. I've got over 30 plants ready to go! Making a little money for my upcoming trip to spirit weavers gathering.

I could spend all day again being in my yard. I especially  enjoy it when Tres joins me and we work together and creating beautiful space at home in the yard and garden

Neighborhood playing field

At the top of our hill, we call it "the flats" kids gather for pick up games of basketball, bump, or even a game of 5000 with the football. Scooters or bikes are usually close by too. I am so pleased we live in a neighborhood where this type of play is acceptable, safe, and lively. Typically you'll see at minimum 2-4 kids out here. Mixed ages, siblings, and friends. They all work together pretty well to make the most fun out of their evenings in the neighborhood. Spencer and his buddy Chase had the entire flats to themselves tonight. I joined for a game of 5000, it was pretty fun.

For the Love of Motorcycles

I finally got a chance to take a quad out in the dunes and follow Ruben around on his Honda CRF 250R. Pretty impressive, I will admit I was terrified and proud at the same time. He rode that bike so gracefully. It was fun to see him go! I'm forever grateful to have my cousin Avery be his motorcycle coach for dune and dirt riding. His experience and Rubens eagerness make for a great team. It will be exciting to see Rubens skills improve and his love of riding bring him such good times. Good thing we live so close to the Oregon Dunes! Next up... Dirt track in the valley!

Southern Oregon

Last weekend I went to visit Melisa in southern Oregon. The boys stayed home, while Melisa and I had a whole weekend of chasing waterfalls, swimming in frigid cold water, picking mountain mushrooms, drinking red wine, talking and talking, laughing and catching up with some very good sister time. We visited Lost creek lake, Rogue river, Barr creek falls, the Boulders, Toketee falls, and the cute and historical town of Prospect and Canyonville.
The gift of time and experience is so special! You get to walk away with memories to last a life time. I loved the beauty and nature of south central Oregon!  So warm too.

Wednesday Night Ride

We had our first warm weather yesterday. 76 degrees and everyone thought it should be a holiday. Tres and I took a ride to the Heceta Head Light house. We brought our friend Cajun with us too. It was too warm for a motorcycle jacket and felt like we should go for a swim too. I love days like this! I couldn't decide if I should ride motorcycles, garden, or go fishing with the boys at Darlings. Motorcycle  riding won, again!
